For Patients
Many of the ‘gurus’ in dentistry like to refer to service users as ‘clients’. We still like to call you ‘patients’ as to us the patient-team professional relationship is more than a transaction.
We take our duty of care to our patients very seriously. We understand that trust and feeling comfortable in your decisions and surroundings is so important.
When you arrive at Waterside Dentalcare you’ll be greeted in reception before being chaperoned along our glass-fronted corridor beside the sea to one of the treatment rooms.
In this safe and confidential area we will give you the opportunity to ask questions or discuss any concerns you may have before continuing with your consultation.
Our aim is to ensure that every patient attending for planned treatment should already know what is going to happen, how long it is likely to take and what the cost will be. Nonetheless we are very happy to go through the details again.
Following your treatment or consultation we will take the time to ensure you are comfortable. We will go over the outcomes of the treatment and discuss any further stages in the environment of the treatment room, before chaperoning you back to reception. In this way you do not need to talk about confidential matters in front of other people.
We like our patients to understand their options as much as possible so they can make informed decisions regarding their care. With this in mind we have shared many of our advice sheets on this website.
