Sarah qualified as a dental hygienist at the Eastman Dental Hospital for Oral Health Care Sciences, London in 1989 having previously trained as a nursery nurse and dental health educator.
She has a special interest in the prevention of dental diseases in children and gained experience in developing preventive dental units for children in general practices in Surrey before moving to Cornwall in 1991.
Since then she worked closely with Karen Harry, Hannah McHugh and Paul McGannity to develop a programme for the treatment of periodontal disease which has been a source of inspiration for other dental teams.
